The events most intimate room is in your hands! It must be romantic, sexy, and chic and it must say “I Love You” through its design and décor.
The responsibility of decorating the wedding suite falls on the Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaids. This is one of the most important duties you will have as this is a very intimate space for the Bride and Groom-the very first time they will be alone as Mr. and Mrs. Since you are part of the bridal party, you are very close to the bride and will be able to adjust the following based on likes and dislikes. Even better, if you have spent any time with the Groom you will be able to incorporate some of his likes and dislikes as well.
1.Ask the Bride to be for her “wedding night duffle bag” one day prior to the wedding. This bag has all of her toiletries, a change of clothes and one of those cute teddies from VICTORIA’S SECRET that she got at her bridal shower. She has already packed this bag trust me and if not she’ll be grateful she chose the correct person to be her right hand and thank you for reminding her. Place this bag at the bottom of the bed the night of.
2.The day of the wedding you will do the following:
-enlist the help of a bridesmaid or two depending on the size of the suite and bridal party.
-get the key from the Groom for the hotel suite
If the couple is staying at a hotel that night of here are is some info for you:
If the suite is in the same place as the reception, then the banquet director has probably added the suite as part of the package and thus it may already have candies, a basket of goodies, strawberries and champagne with flutes. If not then these are items you should place in the suite yourself.
3.Before you leave the reception you will grab the wedding flutes (obviously the toasts have long been completed) and the personals-the bride’s flowers also any framed pictures, card box and keepsakes.
A bridesmaid must be the gatekeeper and she will keep the bride and groom away until all the lavish decorations have been completed.
4.Once you enter the suite, you must work with efficiency to complete the following:
-arrange all candles throughout the suite: a few on the side tables some on the vanity and around the tub. I suggest LED lights and let the couple light any conventional ones themselves
-arrange any accessories on tables: any pictures, mirrors, feathers, crystals around the candles.
-make a centerpiece by placing her bouquet in a vase of water
-add water to small vases and add floating candles
-place rose petals (dried/frozen) on bed, make a heart shape if you wish
-create a petal path from the bed to the tub by scattering a few petals on the floor
-return the room key to the front desk
Whew! You did it, great job! Rest assured the Bride and Groom will be quite thankful and pleasantly surprised.
